This is your personal invitation to become a member of the Carlsbad Community Development Corporation (CCDC). CCDC is organized to promote educational projects, community enhancements, and charitable activities. In becoming a member and supporting CCDC, you will be assisting in the economic improvement of the City of Carlsbad and Eddy County, enhancing the appearance of our town and improving the quality of life for our residents. CCDC registered as a non-profit corporation in New Mexico in mid-2007 and CCDC has received tax-free status from the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. We are anxious to build our membership and begin fund raising with our tax-free status to move CCDC into a position of greatly improving Carlsbad CCDC is dedicated to community revitalization by first addressing basic infrastructure needs. We are currently working with New Mexico State University–Carlsbad, Carlsbad Municipal Schools, Loving Municipal Schools, local residents and businesses, the city, and other partners to provide vocational training and certification in construction trades to high school students. This unified mission provides a means to build affordable low and moderate income houses for qualified families and to enhance the physical environment, increase the economic vitality, and improve the quality of life for everyone in our community. The exciting possibilities for CCDC to assist a significantly greater population of clients for vocational training are countless. Training programs can exceed construction trades, though acknowledged to be a very important skill set for developing more craftsmen needed in our city.
